Replacing injectors just doesn’t make sense when a through reconditioning can restore them to like-new performance at a fraction of the cost.
Average restrictions for any given used injector are 8% before cleaning. This restriction results in a lean mixture at the oxygen sensor. The overall result: richer mixture for the entire engine as well as increased emissions in hydrocarbons by 26% and increased carbon monoxide by 16% which leads to poor performance, decreased mileage, increased smog, and potentially more costly repairs.
In-Car Treatments Just Don't Work...They can't offer an effective method of removing obstructions. In fact – some chemical cleaners do more harm than good – causing immediate damage and long term harm to injectors, O2 sensors, and catalytic converters. GM and Nissan have issued Technical Service Bulletins warning technicians against this potentially costly mistake. |
